Excuses = BUSTED!

According to Women's Health Magazine, the most common excuses of not working out during the holidays are:
  • “I don’t have time.”
  • “I don’t want to miss out.”
  • “I’ll start in January.”
It is natural for us to have excuses to eat healthy and work out, mostly because it is easier to eat junk food and lay in bed watching movies than it is to get up, eat some egg whites and go for a jog. The difference that we can make in ourselves is to realize when we are making these excuses, and try to combat them at crucial moments.
In the end, no matter what excuses we tell ourselves, we know deep down that it's all BS.

Here a goal that you can set for yourself this week. Every time you feel like eating junk food or snoozing your alarm for your early morning workout, ask yourself this question, among others from About.com:

WILL I REGRET THIS DECISION?

By thinking of the consequences BEFORE your actions, you can prevent that terrible feeling that happens after eating too much or not exercising enough. You can avoid the moment you enter that cycle of feeling down, and then eating the wrong things again. Not everyone experiences this, but I bet most overweight people do. You can avoid GUILT by asking yourself this crucial question.

Remember, you can always ask yourself ---WHAT DO I WANT MORE? ---this cookie or extra 30 minutes in bed, or a healthier, better me?

  1. This is so true. Thanks do much for the reminder. If we continue to make excuses we only end up failing.
